What would be your dream vacation?

altMy dream vacation is to visit Bora Bora and to stay at the Four Seasons Resort – Kardashian Style.

Kelli Clussman, Kaukauna

altI love camping with my family in Door County each summer and spring break trips to Florida and Hawaii have been great, but I dream of going on a girls’ getaway vacation to Rancho de los Caballeros in Arizona. I met my two best friends from college through horseback riding. One now lives in Maplewood, Minn. and the other in Bismarck, North Dakota. We have gone to great lengths to spend a weekend together every year or two near one of our homes. I dream of spending a long weekend with them at this “historic ranch resort with the soul of a bed and breakfast.” The Giddy Up Gals package includes riding, hiking and spa treatments. It would be wonderful!

Julie Buchberger, Appleton

altMy dream vacation would be to take a trip to Disney World with my family. I have realized as you get older time goes way too fast. A vacation with my side of the family and my husband’s would be fun. We all are connected in many ways!

Lori Spiegelberg

altI would love to be dropped off in a remote Indian village with my bag full of hair supplies ready to teach women how to cut and style hair!

Rolanda Goheen, Oshkosh

altI’d love to go to Hawaii. It’s always 85 and sunny.

Mari Charles, De Pere

altI’d love to take a European cruise and see some of the world’s top cities from the Baltic region to the Mediterranean.

altI’d like to go to Hawaii – I’ve never gone but my husband has. I’d like to go for the beauty and serenity.

What are words of wisdom you try to live by?

altSurround yourself with the very best friends.

Mary Hosmer, Hortonville

altYou have to be happy with yourself to be a happy person.

Debbie Daanen, Appleton

altAlways be positive!

Deb Matz, Appleton

altStep on a path and stay true to yourself.

Joanne Chastain, Appleton

altI live by this quote from the Dalai Lama: “The planet does not need more successful people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds.” It reminds me every day to love people and not the pursuit of wealth.

Kim Conn Fletcher, Oshkosh

altI try to remember that there is always someone else who has a greater need than my own. There are times in my life where I pass on things I want, knowing someone else will need it more. One easy way I do this is by leaving open one parking space better than the one I take. Doing things like this makes me feel good that I made someone’s life easier and reminds me to be grateful for what I have.

Jenny Griesbach, Oshkosh

alt“Are you tryin’ or cryin’? Those are the words I live by and also try to impose on my children!

Pamela M. Barnes, Neenah

altEach day, appreciate one’s PRESENCE in your life, not PRESENTS. It enriches the heart and soul ever more gratuitously than a physical possession.

Cindy Mich, Glendale

altMy words of wisdom are: “Never give up.” This is a great reminder for me when I get overwhelmed that if I’m determined enough, I can work through anything as long as I don’t stop trying!

Becky McKean, De Pere

altWords of wisdom that I try to live by are that I ask myself daily, is it “hurtful or helpful,” whether it be my words or actions. I try to live each day with the hope of doing a good deed for someone – whether be opening the door, letting a car go in front of me or saying encouraging words to a co-worker, family member or friend – without expecting anything back in return.

I hope my actions or words are helpful to others and remind ourselves that what and how we do things can change the course of someone’s day.

Jodi L. Jensema, Oshkosh

altI try to live by the “10 Second Rule.”  I believe that one small act of kindness can make an enormous difference; so when I feel that nudge to perform an act of kindness, I’m reasonably certain Jesus wants me to do, I just do it – in 10 seconds – before I change my mind.

Dee Geurts-Bengtson, Green Bay

What do you look forward to most in spring?

altThe thing I look forward to most in the spring is the first time I see my bulbs (tulips and daffodils) coming through the soil. Usually there is still snow on the ground. I am always amazed that these plants that seem fragile and look dead in the fall made it through the winter! Seeing this always makes me look forward to warmth and it is rejuvenating.

Stephanie Long, Appleton

altI look most forward to the spring because I can start using my bicycle in the mornings. I normally bike every day from Little Chute to Kimberly and pick up my mother who is 77 years old and we bike to Appleton and go through Telulah Park. It’s very quiet and beautiful in the morning and the start of the day is perfect for both of us.

Lu Ann Vander Zanden, Little Chute

altWhat I look forward to the most is a chance to sit outside on my screened-in porch that is right off our living room. We have a water fountain for the birds to splash around in and several bird feeders hanging in the spruce right by the screened-in porch. Walking the little doggies is great as the sun shines on my face! It is a feeling a renewal – one feels alive when spring comes and there is hope and a sense that all is right with the world!

Dawn Yohr, Appleton

altBy spring my eyes are hungry for flowers – daffodils, tulips and crocus.

Vicki Schorse, Oshkosh

altI love the smells and seeing the grass and tree buds. For my family, with two girls that play soccer and a husband that coaches, the spring is a time we get active together.

Kim Zehren, Appleton

altI look forward to the warm weather and the new life – flowers blooming, birds chirping – and wearing open-toe shoes.

Melissa Harris, Oshkosh

altThe first signs that sprint is really arriving - like forsythia, tulips and robins - start the change from brown and gray to summer. These are signs of change and they lift my spirit.

Jan Murphy, Oshkosh

altWhat I look most forward to in spring is opening the windows of the house to let the stale old air out and the new fresh spring air in … I can smell it ... can you?

Amy Molinski, Oshkosh

altNew birth!

Heather Voss, Appleton

altI look forward to the chirping birds coming back from their warmer climate. I look forward to all of the smells that mean spring is here; it is hard to describe exactly what that smell is because spring, to me, has its own special, energetic scent. I look forward to opening my windows for that spring freshness to run throughout my home. I look forward to seeing the outdoor playfulness of children as if they were just getting outside for the first time. And, of course, spring means baseball!

Dawn Benish, Neenah

altMy favorite part of spring is for it to be warm enough to not have to make my kids put on hats, jackets, snowpants, mittens and boots before we leave the house.

Amy Kline, Green Bay

altMy favorite part of spring are all of the beautiful flowers sprouting up!

Melissa Coulombe, Green Bay

altMy favorite part of spring is daylight savings time when everyone seems to have more energy and they are happier!

Stephanie Nies, Green Bay

altI like spring! I’m excited about our (American Heart Association) cancer prevention study debuting this spring.

Kristin Klinker, Green Bay

altSpring means summer’s coming and we can get outside more!

Kara Muchow, Appleton
