What is your favorite summertime drink?
My favorite summer drink is chilled white wine or sangria.
Sherri Weitz, Oshkosh
Mojitos!
Deborah Oettinger, Appleton
My favorite summertime drink is a Corona Light poured into a frozen glass with a large tablespoon of limeade mixed in. It is refreshing and only 130 calories per serving.
Molly Moffitt, Fond du Lac
My favorite summertime drink is actually a favorite year-round. Every morning I start my day off with an Isotonic cocktail, which contains great tasting vitamins. This has helped me with allergies, energy, focus and just feeling good.
Jodi Heiden, Black Creek
Ice-cold summer hummers.
Vanessa Schoen, New Franken
Good ol‘ iced water with lemon....
or mojitos!
Crystal Hill, Appleton
Well, let’s see, my favorite beverage, not being an alcohol drinker, I LOVE raspberry lemonade. In fact- a member made some homemade lemonade last week at an appointment, and I am going to have to put forth the effort to do that, it was so good.
Jody Otto Buchholz, Appleton

My dream vacation is
to visit Bora Bora and to stay at the Four Seasons Resort – Kardashian
Style.
I love camping with
my family in Door County each summer and spring break trips to Florida and
Hawaii have been great, but I dream of going on a girls’ getaway vacation to
Rancho de los Caballeros in Arizona. I met my two best friends from college
through horseback riding. One now lives in Maplewood, Minn. and the other in
Bismarck, North Dakota. We have gone to great lengths to spend a weekend
together every year or two near one of our homes. I dream of spending a long
weekend with them at this “historic ranch resort with the soul of a bed and
breakfast.” The Giddy Up Gals package includes riding, hiking and spa
treatments. It would be wonderful!
My dream vacation
would be to take a trip to Disney World with my family. I have realized as you
get older time goes way too fast. A vacation with my side of the family and my
husband’s would be fun. We all are connected in many
ways!
I would love to be
dropped off in a remote Indian village with my bag full of hair supplies ready
to teach women how to cut and style hair!
I’d love to go to
Hawaii. It’s always 85 and sunny.
I’d love to take a
European cruise and see some of the world’s top cities from the Baltic region
to the Mediterranean.
I’d like to go to
Hawaii – I’ve never gone but my husband has. I’d like to go for the beauty and
serenity.
Fiji. I’d like to
stay on the cottages that are on stilts in the water.
I’d like to go to
France to enjoy the food and explore the arts and literature.
Surround yourself
with the very best friends.
You have to be happy
with yourself to be a happy person.
Always be positive!
Step on a path and
stay true to yourself.
I live by this quote
from the Dalai Lama: “The planet does not need more successful people. The
planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and
lovers of all kinds.” It reminds me every day to love people and not the
pursuit of wealth.
I try to remember
that there is always someone else who has a greater need than my own. There are
times in my life where I pass on things I want, knowing someone else will need
it more. One easy way I do this is by leaving open one parking space better
than the one I take. Doing things like this makes me feel good that I made
someone’s life easier and reminds me to be grateful for what I have.
“Are you tryin’ or
cryin’? Those are the words I live by and also try to impose on my children!
Each day, appreciate
one’s PRESENCE in your life, not PRESENTS. It enriches the heart and soul ever
more gratuitously than a physical possession.
My words of wisdom
are: “Never give up.” This is a great reminder for me when I get overwhelmed
that if I’m determined enough, I can work through anything as long as I don’t
stop trying!
Words of wisdom that
I try to live by are that I ask myself daily, is it “hurtful or helpful,”
whether it be my words or actions. I try to live each day with the hope of
doing a good deed for someone – whether be opening the door, letting a car go
in front of me or saying encouraging words to a co-worker, family member or
friend – without expecting anything back in return.
I try to live by the
“10 Second Rule.” I believe that one
small act of kindness can make an enormous difference; so when I feel that
nudge to perform an act of kindness, I’m reasonably certain Jesus wants me to
do, I just do it – in 10 seconds – before I change my mind.
The thing I look forward to most in the spring is the first time I see my bulbs (tulips and daffodils) coming through the soil. Usually there is still snow on the ground. I am always amazed that these plants that seem fragile and look dead in the fall made it through the winter! Seeing this always makes me look forward to warmth and it is rejuvenating.
I look most forward to the spring because I can start using my bicycle in the mornings. I normally bike every day from Little Chute to Kimberly and pick up my mother who is 77 years old and we bike to Appleton and go through Telulah Park. It’s very quiet and beautiful in the morning and the start of the day is perfect for both of us.
What I look forward to the most is a chance to sit outside on my screened-in porch that is right off our living room. We have a water fountain for the birds to splash around in and several bird feeders hanging in the spruce right by the screened-in porch. Walking the little doggies is great as the sun shines on my face! It is a feeling a renewal – one feels alive when spring comes and there is hope and a sense that all is right with the world!
By spring my eyes are hungry for flowers – daffodils, tulips and crocus.
I love the smells and seeing the grass and tree buds. For my family, with two girls that play soccer and a husband that coaches, the spring is a time we get active together.
I look forward to the warm weather and the new life – flowers blooming, birds chirping – and wearing open-toe shoes.
The first signs that sprint is really arriving - like forsythia, tulips and robins - start the change from brown and gray to summer. These are signs of change and they lift my spirit.
What I look most forward to in spring is opening the windows of the house to let the stale old air out and the new fresh spring air in … I can smell it ... can you?
New birth!
I look forward to the chirping birds coming back from their warmer climate. I look forward to all of the smells that mean spring is here; it is hard to describe exactly what that smell is because spring, to me, has its own special, energetic scent. I look forward to opening my windows for that spring freshness to run throughout my home. I look forward to seeing the outdoor playfulness of children as if they were just getting outside for the first time. And, of course, spring means baseball!
My favorite part of spring is for it to be warm enough to not have to make my kids put on hats, jackets, snowpants, mittens and boots before we leave the house.
My favorite part of spring are all of the beautiful flowers sprouting up!
My favorite part of spring is daylight savings time when everyone seems to have more energy and they are happier!
I like spring! I’m excited about our (American Heart Association) cancer prevention study debuting this spring.
Spring means summer’s coming and we can get outside more!
