Tone your triceps and melt your muffin in time for summer with this all in-one move!
V-Sit Tricep Extension with Rotation
The V-Sit targets the Abs, or Rectus Abdominis, and the Torso Rotation targets the Obliques. Together the V-Sit and Torso Rotation work to melt the dreaded muffin top!
Add to the above, the Overhead Tricep Extension, targeting the Triceps, and you have the perfect combination of Ab, Oblique and Tricep toning in time for summer fun!
You will need one small to medium weight to complete this exercise:
Step 1 Begin by sitting on the floor or mat with your knees together and bent, and feet slightly raised off the floor. Lean back 45 degrees, keeping your back straight. You are now in a V-Sit position working your Abs.
Step 2 Next, hold the weight in both hands, vertically. While keeping your arms close to your head, bend your elbows and lower the weight down between your shoulder blades (photo A).
Step 3 Rotate your torso to the left (photo B), and then back to center.
Step 4 Once back in the center position, straighten your arms and extend the weight above your head to work your triceps in an Overhead Tricep Extension (photo C).
• Repeat steps 2 through 4, alternating the side rotation.
Repeat the V-Sit Tricep Extension w/ Rotation for one minute, or until exhaustion, for the ultimate in tricep toning and muffin top melting.
