PMI Entertainment Group is announcing 4 more ships for the Baylake Bank Tall Ship Festival in downtown Green Bay Aug. 13-15.

The American Sail Training Association has partnered with Great Lakes United
to bring a fleet of tall ships to the Great Lakes as part of the Great Lakes United TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® 2010 race series.

The tall ships race runs through all five Great Lakes making port appearances in cities throughout the US and Canada. The festival consists of water conservation education and youth sail training. This year’s festival grounds will be on the west side of the Fox River at Leicht Memorial Park and near the Neville Public Museum.

The 4 new ships include:

H.M.S. Bounty - used in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean II. She was built for the 1962 movie Mutiny on the Bounty by MGM Studios and later operated as a sail training vessel. Bounty and her crew helped prepare the officers and crew to sail USS Constitution for her bicentennial sail in 1997.

Amistad - serves as floating classroom, icon and as a monument to the millions of souls that were broken or lost as a result of the Transatlantic slave trade.

Roseway
- built as a private fishing yacht and is now used as an educational vessel for ecology, maritime history, stewardship, seamanship and community services. She also starred in the TV movie Captains Courageous.

Pride of Baltimore II - Part of her mission is to provide a unique education platform through onboard activities and the Internet for American history and marine sciences. She maintains an international sailing schedule.

These 4 ships will join the previously announced Unicorn and S/V Denis Sullivan. There will be a total of 12 ships at the festival. The rest will be announced in April.

There are still opportunities for companies or organizations to sign on as community partners. If you want to become involved with this unique and prestigious international festival of sailing pageantry, please call Cindy at (920)676-8883.

The festival will include interactive ship tours, sail opportunities on select ships, maritime music & roving entertainment, children’s area and educational programs. For further information, please visit www.tallshipgreenbay.com.
