Author Kathleen Schmitt Kline will present a lecture along with slides for her book People of the Sturgeon on Monday March 1, at 2:00 pm in the Shattuck Community Room on the first floor of Neenah Public Library.
People of the Sturgeon is a history of the cultures surrounding lake sturgeon in Wisconsin’s Lake Winnebago region, told by a fascinating collection of photos, artifacts, and a few good fish tales. This is the only population of sturgeon in the world to have been nearly extinct, then resurrected through a community-wide effort of people who are now joined together as People of the Sturgeon.
Books will be available for purchase at the event and light refreshments will be served. This program was made possible by the Friends of the Neenah Public Library and the Neenah Public Library Trust Fund. Donations to the Friends and the Trust Fund are always accepted and appreciated.
