Congratulations to Cheryll Poissant, director of clinical operations at The Neuroscience Group of NE Wisconsin,who has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives. The designation of CMPE demonstrates that Poissant has achieved board certification in medical practice management. ACMPE certifies an individual’s professional competence when she passes rigorous essay and objective examinations that assess knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills sets. These include business operations, financial management, human resource management, information management, organizational governance, patient care systems, quality management and risk management. The individual must also complete a presentation requirement and earn a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours. Today, ACMPE membership comprises more than 6,600 individuals who have attained CMPE or Fellow status or who seek certification. Poissant has been with the Neuroscience Group since 2007. The Neuroscience group is a team of Neurosurgeons, Neurologists, and Pain Medicine & Rehabilitation doctors, along with Chiropractic care, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Collaborative effort by this team of medical professionals allows the patient to receive high quality, comprehensive and compassionate care from highly trained physicians, right in their own neighborhood.
