Starting Friday, a 30 percent discount will be offered on select items from local independent retailers who are part of ShopJaneShop.com.

ShopJaneShop.com was founded by Sandra Began of Appleton and Stephanie Cartwright of Greenville. It lists independend brick and mortar and online shops to help consumers find independent stores in their communities and beyond.

"There are some truly wonderful, exciting and inexpensive products in locally owned shops, boutiques and made by small, independent companies who only sell online," Began says. "With these discounts, we are saying, 'Thank you for skpping the big box and mall by shopping locally for holiday gifts.'"

A printable coupon, online codes and a list of participating retailers are available in the SHOPS section of ShopJaneShop.com. The discount will be available from Friday to Monday.

Began designs fresh, hand-made holiday wreaths, garland and decor that is sold nationwide. Her ShopJaneShop cofounder, Cartwright, owns Bread and Budder Buckets. The fabric-wrapped buckets are sold across the country.
